The Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School (PAVCS) is a public cyber charter school of choice chartered and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 2001. The Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School serves more than 4,000 students throughout Pennsylvania from Kindergarten through 11th grade in a home-based setting. In 2006, the Pennsylvania Department of Education renewed the cyber charter school to charter for five more years, allowing it to continue to grow through 12th grade.
