Elementary School Teaching Overview

Grades/Subjects:

• K-5^th grade teachers teach all subject areas.

Teaching:

• Multiple contacts with parents each month
• Scheduled Office hours (5^th grade teachers)
• Individual Elluminate sessions twice per month (K-5^th grade teachers)
• Group Elluminate sessions twice per month
• Email
• Phone Calls (Conferencing with Parents & Students
• Work from home using latest technology

Role of Teacher:

• Drives and moderates parent-assisted instruction
• Partner with each parent to support achievement
• Communicate requirements
• Answer questions and support student learning
• Collect work samples monthly and provide feedback
• Supplement courses with additional curriculum as necessary
• Recommend grade level promotion and retention
• Optional group sessions for discussions
• Maintain Office Hours (5^th grade teachers)
• Attend School Outings, Discovery Days, Professional Developments, Testing, etc (other travel as necessary)
