Family Support: Community Involvement

We encourage community building within the PAVCS family by coordinating parent discussion groups and a parent buddy program in addition to whatever individual bonds parents may form among themselves. PAVCS parents and families are never isolated from the community as a result of choosing home-based education. In fact, many families find themselves more involved in both their school community and the community at large as a direct result of a PAVCS education. Of course, the extent of your involvement is up to you, but PAVCS offers you opportunities to participate in:

Partners in Education (PIE)

PIE is a very active organization made up of parents, community leaders and school representatives working together to maximize the PAVCS experience.

Service Learning and Volunteerism

PAVCS families have a rich history of raising funds and providing assistance to various local and national causes. Most recently, our students raised more than $40,000 to support the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Community Relations

Community Relations is the common thread running through the diverse and colorful tapestry of PAVCS. Community Relations engages, empowers and supports the entire PAVCS family by enhancing communications, creating unity and fostering a sense of partnership between families, teachers, administration and staff.
